The Museum looked for a more sustainable approach to their in-store gift packaging for their retail stores.
The entire line of gift boxes was manufactured using the revolutionary new material TerraSkin® and launched in November, 2006.
This completely Tree-Free Paper made of Stone is supplied by Chameleon Packaging™ the Environmental Division of Design&Source. Design & Source worked with the Design Team at MoMA to re-engineer several of the existing boxes.
A special exhibition shopping bag, also made in TerraSkin®, received an In-Store Design Award from Graphic Design USA. MoMA’s new packaging has caught the interest of major environmental blogs on the internet as well as major news organizations such as the BBC.
